Gabby Werr closed out one of the most impressive quarterback seasons in the country, leading the Alonso Ravens to a 19-1 record and another deep Florida playoff run against one of the nation's toughest schedules.
At this point, the production speaks for itself.
Werr finished the 2026 season with over 5,100 passing yards and continued to cement herself as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in Florida girls flag football history. The Alonso signal caller consistently drove one of the state's most explosive offenses, helping the Ravens remain nationally ranked throughout the year while once again competing for a state championship appearance.
She processes quickly, understands leverage, and consistently delivers the football on time. In flag football, where spacing, timing, and decision-making are everything, that level of command stands out immediately on film. Alonso's offense doesn't function through chaos or backyard football. It operates through rhythm, anticipation, and execution — and Werr has been the centerpiece of that identity.
She was named the 2026 Hillsborough County Flag Football Player of the Year, recognition that reflects both her production and the consistency she showed throughout the season. Even in Alonso's season-ending 13-7 playoff loss to Lennard, Werr continued competing at a high level, throwing for over 200 yards and a touchdown against one of the top defenses in the state.
What makes her evaluation particularly strong is that her game projects beyond statistics. She plays with poise, understands situational football, and has consistently shown the ability to elevate the athletes around her. Defenses know Alonso wants to throw the football, and opponents still struggle to slow the Ravens down.
As girls flag football continues expanding nationally at both the high school and college levels, quarterbacks who combine production, leadership, processing speed, and consistency become increasingly valuable. Gabby Werr has demonstrated all four.
She leaves the 2026 season not only as one of Florida's top quarterbacks, but as one of the most recognizable and accomplished players in the national girls flag football landscape.
