For Nalei Kaʻapana-Suzui, development doesn't stop when practice ends.
The Hilo High School Class of 2028 athlete describes a routine built around putting in additional work before and after her team's scheduled practices -- training early in the morning, attending practice and then returning to training again in the evening.
That commitment has helped Kaʻapana-Suzui develop into a versatile athlete capable of contributing at quarterback, wide receiver, linebacker and defensive back.

Her high school career began as girls flag football established itself at Hilo High School. During her freshman season, Hilo produced an 8-1 league record, and Kaʻapana-Suzui earned All-BIIF First Team recognition at receiver.
She followed that by earning All-BIIF First Team Utility recognition during her sophomore season, demonstrating the versatility that has become one of the defining characteristics of her game.
The submission to HER 7v7 also lists Kaʻapana-Suzui as receiving MVP recognition at a five-star camp.

Now entering her junior year, the 5-foot-4 athlete continues developing across multiple positions while preparing for opportunities beyond high school.
Her recruiting journey has already generated college interest. According to information submitted to HER 7v7, her current offer list includes Grand Canyon University, Cedar Crest College, California Lutheran University and Missouri Baptist University.
Kaʻapana-Suzui's ambitions extend beyond football.
She maintains a 3.0 GPA and has expressed an interest in studying business with the long-term goal of operating her own media business.
From an 8-1 freshman campaign to consecutive All-BIIF First Team recognition, Kaʻapana-Suzui has already built a strong foundation with two high school seasons remaining.
HER 7v7 is proud to recognize Nalei Kaʻapana-Suzui as a Class of 2028 athlete to watch from Hawaii as she continues developing her game and pursuing opportunities at the collegiate level.
