JaNiyah Ducre's Versatility, Leadership and 4.2 GPA Make Her One to Watch in Louisiana

By HER 7v7 Editorial Team

Versatility is one of the most valuable traits in flag football, and Slidell High School's JaNiyah Ducre has built her game around being able to contribute wherever her team needs her.

The Class of 2027 athlete from Slidell, Louisiana, is a multi-position playmaker who contributes at wide receiver, rusher and running back. Her current-season production includes 510 yards, nine touchdowns and 24 flag pulls, demonstrating an ability to make an impact on both sides of the football.

Her performance has also earned her MVP recognition twice.

But Ducre's story extends well beyond the football field.

She is a multi-sport student-athlete who also competes in basketball and track while maintaining an impressive 4.2 unweighted GPA.

Leadership and service are also important parts of who she is. Ducre has served on the Mayor's Youth Council and has volunteered with YUNEity, a youth organization focused on giving back to the community and enhancing the lives of youth and adolescents.

Her development doesn't stop when organized practice ends. Ducre trains independently and regularly participates in flag football workouts and open-field practices as she continues developing her game.

Her ambitions extend to both athletics and academics. Ducre hopes to continue playing flag football at the NCAA Division I level while pursuing a career in nursing.

With another high school season still ahead of her, Ducre represents the combination of athletic versatility, academics, leadership and community involvement that HER 7v7 wants to recognize.

HER 7v7 is proud to feature JaNiyah Ducre as a Class of 2027 athlete to watch as she continues her journey at Slidell High School and pursues an opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.
